Macromedia announces Flash Central, which is still in beta. Central is a new way for developers to offer applications to an end user. Central is essentially a "shell" for Flash mini-applications. Like a shell for components, that can run on desktops or wireless devices. Users can download and install your mini applications into this Central "core" app, and view your content online and offline. Therefore, they can read or use your app in an offline environment -- even make purchases offline -- and then when the user goes back online the content is updated, purchases made and so on.
